I would have loved to know who in the media scrum asked Harper that question. The way CTV ran it made them look like liberal bagmen.

If it ever actually went to vote in the House of Commons, there’s not a chance in hell it would ever pass. But he can then go to the social conservatives who were pushing for it and say “at least I tried”.

I don’t know if Harper “dealt with it.” Yes, he put Duffy in his place about the Supreme Court of Canada reference. However, when’s he ever going to address how he’ll stop same-sex marriages from occurring nation-wide if he chooses to re-legislate the traditional definition of marriage?

That’s the real issue, isn’t it? Sure, the federal legislation won’t be a problem in, say, Alberta, where a court hasn’t weighed in on the issue. But what about in Ontario? The legislation would clearly be unconstitutional according to Ontario’s justices. What does he do about that?

Whether you’re for or against gay marriage, you have to admit that today the main stream media was trying their hardest to beat up on Harper for saying what he said. Wow. CTV and CBC really hate Harper.

Jean Augustine, a Black member of parliament, is nudged aside in Etobicoke by Paul Martin and his stooges so that the new White Hope, Michael Ignatieff, can get a free ride into Parliament. Other Etobicoke hopefuls for office need not apply. This coup is reminiscent of Ukraine before the Orange Revolution. Ukrainian voters in Etobicoke and elsewhere should take note. Ditto Black voters everywhere: step aside- White Man coming through.
